Fairway Woods Checklist
Fairway woods descriptions and checks for choosing the proper woods. The 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7-wood are used for long shots on the fairway. I recommend at least one of those clubs for lady golf club sets.
Use the descriptions below as a checklist to sort out the woods you need. They will often have a smaller, lower profile head to allow them to be used in less than perfect situations.

Fairway Woods Descriptions |
| 2-wood |
Also called Fairway Driver. Has a head size approximating that of a driver, with a loft of 12 to 13 degrees - more or less the same as a lady golf driver. So the 2-wood isn't bought a lot by lady golfers. A 7-wood nowadays has the same qualities |
| 3-wood |
Strong wood with a high loft - 15 to 16 degrees - and a little bit longer shaft. Most of the lady golfers choose such a 3-wood as second fairway wood, in addition to the driver. |
| 4-wood |
Very popular some 20 years ago, but nowadays hardly ever seen. You'd better choose for an 7-wood and a 9-wood, in stead of a 2-wood and a 4-wood
|
| 5-wood |
Easy long wood, with a loft of 19 to 21 degrees. High ball flight and a reasonable distance. Good choice for the tee, fairway and light rough.
|
| 6-wood |
Rare, because there's not very much difference with the high lofted 5-wood and the 7-wood. These lady golf clubs are good substitutes for the 6-wood in wood golf sets

Good luck with choosing the proper taylor made woods, fairway g5 ping wood, cobra woods, callaway woods, titleist wood, taylor made fairway rescue wood or cleveland woods, that fits your goals, budget and play!
