Golf Pitching Tip Checklist
| Golf pitching tip checklist and a photo sequence to improve the golf pitching technique with your lady golf clubs. A pitch shot is a short high approach shot within 30 to 70 yards of the hole with a high lofted club, usually a pitching wedge. The ball makes a high arc and stops almost immediately after landing on the green. If you ever hear the word Pitching Niblick - that's an old term used for an 8-iron or a golf club that has the same qualities of a 9-iron or pitching wedge. |
Golf Pitching Technique
Golf Pitching Tip - Checklist1. Use one of the higher lofted wedges or a 9-iron. Your choice depends on the lenght of the run of the ball when it lands. 2. Put your hands somewhat ahead of the ball, inside your front thigh. 3. Your stance is open, but slightly narrowed. 4. The ball lies a little bit towards your right foot - left foot for left handed lady golfers. 5. Your front foot is slightly open towards the pin. 6. Aim the clubface square to the target to get extra loft. 7. Put your weight on the front foot. 8. Make a nearly full golf swing. Golf pitching requires a shortened, 1/2 or 3/4 of a normal back swing. 9. Keep your hands and wrists firm and stiff at impact. Keep your hands ahead of the ball. More Tips For a Good Golf Pitch1. Practice your golf pitching technique often. I always practice shortly before a round of golf at the putting and pitching area. 2. By changing the length of your backswing you can alter the lenght of the ball flight. 3. Put your hands lower on the wedge for a shorter pitching swing. 4. Do not look up to early. This is perhaps my most important golf pitching tip. Most of us (yes me too :-) look up to early, and than it is too late. By looking up early you move a little bit, but that could be just too much for a great shot to the green or flag.
