In The Rough Checklist
In the rough checklist to sure get out checklist. Try the method I always use to make a choppy golf shot in the rough to get out of deep grass. First of all, always aim to the fairway or green. Don't make it more worse.
1. Choose a 7-iron or pitching wedge.
2. Take an open stance. The ball lies more towards the back foot.
3. Use your normal golf grip. Choke your hands down a little bit.
4. Weight is on your front foot.
5. Open the club face. Aim your feet to a point left of a target on the fairway or green. The grooves are square to the ball. An open lady golf club face will help you to generate more loft.
6. Swing your club backwards - 3/4 of a normal golf swing. Turn your shoulders and hips for more power and speed. Hinge your wrists a little bit, just like you are making a fine pitch shot. But not to much.
7. The down swing has to be powerful enough to help the ball out of the grass. So, accelerate when you hit the club down, and hit through the grass.
8. Now keep your hands firm while approaching the ball, because the golf club face must stay open at impact.
9. Chop the ball with many swing speed - like you make a bunker golf shot.
10. Swing through and point your golf club towards the target.
11. But don't look up too early after you hit the ball in the rough!
